MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Apr. 30) Tommy and Donald didn’t have a good outing in the SAS race at Smoky Mountain on Friday night but it wasn’t really that bad either.

Tommy was driving his BMS Rocket and he started 16th and finished 17th. Donald was driving his Buick powered Late Model and he started ninth and finished 10th in the feature.

“As far as Tommy goes we never hit on anything good for the night,” said David. “We were never able to get a handle on the car or the track and we just weren’t any good.”

Donald qualified early in the first group and had a good run, but the track got faster and he ended up fifth in the first group and started ninth in the feature.

“We started middle pack and had raced up to sixth when we got helped into the wall on a restart,” said Donald. “It bent the left front spindle and after that we were just hanging on. We ended up 10th.”

Next up is the Lucas Oil event at Tazewell on Friday and then possibly Lucas again at Saturday night at Florence Speedway.

“I have a wedding to go to Saturday night and right now Donald and Eric are not sure they are going to make the trip to Florence,” concluded David.
