MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 17) The weather was a factor for the SSRS event at Smoky Mountain Speedway, but the BMS team had another strong showing with a second place finish for Billy and a fourth place finish for Tommy.

With the Saturday night SRRS race moved to Sunday do to rain Billy was locked in third and Tommy fifth on the starting grid. The combination of a 1 PM start time and a hot summer day did not call for a lot of passing. Billy and Tommy were each able to improve just one position because on the second attempt to start the race pole sitter Austin Dillon got into the wall and out of the race.

“The track did everything they could to get the race in Saturday night, but had to go to Sunday,” said Kerr. “You know what happens when you have a dirt track race in the day time, it is one lane. It is one lane and you just grind it out which is what Billy and I did.

We didn’t tear nothing up so for a day race it wasn’t a bad race.”

The team will head for the rescheduled running of the Budweiser SAS Jean Johnson Memorial at Cleveland Speedway this Saturday night.
