MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Apr. 24) Prior to heading to Kentucky for the two Spring Nationals races Blount Motorsports and Caseythought they had made significant progress only to go back to square one in Kentucky.
Friday night at Ponderosa they started fourth and finished seventh. Saturday night at Florence they started third and after being door slammed on a restart and having the rack and pinion knocked off the car they watched the last of the race from the pits. They were scored 21st in the final rundown.
“Yes it is frustrating and if we knew what to do to fix it we would. We have the qualifying part of it in pretty good shape, but when we bolt on that hard right rear and get into the race things just go down hill from there,” Said David. “Like I said it is frustrating and we are all shaking our heads.”
There have been a number of factors, including the weather, that has made Casey’s move to become BMS’s primary driver rougher than expected, but nobody thought it would be this rough.
“Casey is a good driver. I like to think I am a pretty good crew chief and we have made some progress as a team, but we haven’t hit on the right combination. We are closer than when we started, but nowhere near where we need to be. All I know to do is keep on thrashing until we find it. I am sure we will find it, but…’ concluded David.
Coming up next is the rescheduled WoO Tennessee Tip Off at Smoky Mountain Speedway. The two day show will kick off with a Thursday night practice followed by Friday night and Saturday night features both paying $10,000 to win.
