MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Jan. 10) The holidays are over, everyoneis a few pounds heavier and ready to start the new season. It seems likeforever since the last green flag but actually it was less than two months whenthe final checkered flag fell at Cleveland Speedway.

Since the last race the team has been moving full steamahead toward the new season. They have spent time testing, been to the PRIShow, rebuilt two race cars, had all the engines freshened and spent as muchtime with their family as possible.

“I can remember when there was a pretty long off season, butnow a days it is pretty much a couple weeks for Christmas and that’s all,” saiddriver Tommy Kerr, who also holds down a full time job. “We are all excitedabout the new season. We have the same crew and we made some giant strides thelast half of last season.”

The team owned by Larry Garner, Steve Garner and Kerr willhave a familiar look for 2009. The GW Performance Rocket 4T Late Model willhave basically the same color scheme with many of the same sponsors. The powerunder the hood will be from Custom Race Engines, the shocks from Öhlins and therubber from Hoosier.

The crew will be the same as 2008 with Crew Chief GaryWinger leading the team and Kerr handling the driving duties. B.J. Hillman,William Bobo and Kevin Roulette will continue to do the heavy lifting.

For the BMS team the 2009 season with start at Golden IsleSpeedway in Brunswick, Ga. for four Southern All Star races starting on January28. After Golden Isle the team will go to East Bay Raceway outside of Tampa,Fla. for two or three Lucas races, dates to be determined. Then it is off toVolusia Speedway Park for the UMP and WoO events the following week.
