MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Apr. 14) The weekend that started on Thursday night at Tri-County Race Track and ended Saturday night at Tazewell Speedway was not the best of weekend for and the Blount Motorsports Team.

On Thursday at Tri-County Race Track two lapped cars tangled and blocked the track with Billy trying to squeeze through. Officials ruled he had been involved and or stopped and he was put to the rear. He was running second at the time of the incident and was able to come back for a 10th place finish.

“I’m not real sure exactly what happened in the wreck, but the officials put me to the back of the pack. After that it was doing what we could to come up with a decent finish,” said Billy. “We were able to get back to 10th and that was about it.”

Ogle and the team decided to skip Friday night WoO event at Duck River as it would have been a logistical nightmare. This decision turned out to be a good one as Duck River was rained out.

On Saturday night for the WoO event at Tazewell Speedway Billy started fourth on the grid and was in a first lap mishap when Shane Clanton clipped the left front of the BMS Rocket.

“The deal with Clanton was just one of those things, but we ended up with a flat left front tire and a lot of suspension damage on the car. We were able to change the tire and keep on going, but car wasn’t much good after that. We got back to 12th, but decided to park it,” said David. “The car continues to get better and was good both nights, but circumstances didn’t let us show how good it was.”

Coming up for BMS is the Spring Nationals Kentucky Swing with races at 201, Ponderosa and Florence Speedways on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
