MARYVILLE, Tenn. (April 27) Between concrete and tires BMS teammates Tommy and Donald had an interesting couple of nights at Smoky Mountain Speedway on Friday and Saturday nights.

On Friday Tommy had a solid night as he started 11th and worked his way up to a sixth place finish. While Tommy was cruising Donald was doing some wall testing. He found the wall qualifying and the team had to scramble to get the car back together and get him ready for the B-main. He worked his way up to seventh and found the wall again and ended up finishing 15th.

On Saturday Tommy qualified fourth, finished second in the Dash and started on the outside front row. He would lead the first 12 circuits before giving up the lead to Casey Roberts. Seven laps later Dale McDowell would relegate Kerr to third and on lap 42 he shredded a right rear and ended up finishing 15th.

Donald took the backup car and found the wall during hot laps. He finished third in the second last chance race and started 10th on the grid. When Kerr brought out the caution McIntosh took over third. On the restart he dove low on the race track, found the mud and shot up the track. He avoided the wall, gathered it up and crossed the line in sixth.

“It was just one of those weekends when things didn’t go the way we wanted them to go, but at least nothing was blowing up and or coming apart on the race cars. Tommy ran good both nights and if it hadn’t been for the shredded right rear it would have been a really good weekend for him,” said David. “And Donald just couldn’t stay away from the walls, but when you are up on the wheel those things are going to happen. We will get everything back together and get after it next weekend.”

Next weekend will be two Spring Nationals races, Friday night at Cleveland and Saturday night at Tazewell.
