MARYVILLE, Tenn. (May13) Billy Ogle Jr. drove the Blount Motorsports Vic Hill powered Rocket Chevrolet to a sixth place finish on Thursday night at Duck River Raceway Park and a third place finish at Dixie Speedway on Saturday night. Both were decent races with decent finishes and nothing major was torn up, but they lost ground to point leader Steve Casebolt in the Spring Nationals’ point chase.

At Duck River on Thursday night the track was rapidly changing with Billy the last car out in the first qualifying group. He qualified 12th of the 44 cars attempting to make the race. The consi was a wild one and Billy ended up taking a provisional and starting last. He was able to work his way through the field and posted a strong sixth place finish.

On Saturday night a field of 44 cars were on hand at Dixie with Billy starting fourth on the grid. On the start of the feature he was trapped outside and fell to seventh. He then moved his way back up to third and was battling with Dale McDowell for second when the checkered flag fell.

“All things considered it was not a bad weekend. It was our first time to race at Duck River and we got behind, took a provisional and started in the rear. So sixth was respectable,” said David. “At Dixie we had a real good car and we might have had something for Dale McDowell, but nobody had anything for Casebolt who won.”

This Friday night the team will be at Boyd’s Speedway for the Spring Nationals’ finale. Ogle and BMS can mathematically win the championship, but they need to have a really good night and Casebolt’s team a really bad one. On Saturday night the action moves to Cleveland Speedway for the 36th Annual SAS Tennessee Memorial race.
