MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Sept 26) Tommy scored a second place finish and Donald came from the rear for a fourth place finish in the SNBS event at Smoky Mountain Speedway Saturday night.

Kerr qualified second in the first qualifying group and Donald first in the second group. Donald lined up on the outside front row, but fuel problems sent him to the pits and a first lap pile up gave him enough time to make repairs and start at the rear of the field.

“Man the car was great. I would have rather started on the outside front row instead of the rear of the field, but if we would have had a couple of cautions we could have won the race from the rear. The car was that good,” said Donald.

Tommy started on the inside second row and had a few of his own problems when he lost his brakes toward the end of the feature.

“Although the brakes were a problem the reason I didn’t win the thing was because the driver wasn’t thinking like he should have been,” said Tommy. “When you drive these things part time you don’t do stuff automatically like you do when you are in one every week.”

The team will be headed to Tri-County Race Track for a SNBS race on Friday night.
