MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 27) Tommy stayed out of trouble and worked his way from 12th to third in the SAS Rockin’ With the Stars 40 at Smoky Mountain Speedway Saturday night.

Tommy qualified 6th in the second group and started 12th on the field. He would stay out of trouble, get an assist from some cautions and salvage a third place finish.

“The driver dug a big hole when he didn’t qualify well. Part of that is not racing full time, but the driver should have done better. Started mid pack, raced well, took advantage of the cautions and some of the other guys problems and came home with a decent finish,” said Tommy. “With the luck we have been having I was waiting to see what would mess up during the race, but nothing did.”

Casey had a good car and after qualifying fourth in the second group he lost a transmission on the final hot laps session and was unable to start the feature.

“This whole season has been one disaster after another and Saturday night at Smoky Mountain was not different. After having transmission problems at Cherokee we put in a brand new transmission and it went in hot laps,” said David. “Have no idea what exactly happened, but something broke internally and for the second consecutive race we sat on the sidelines.”

For the Labor Day Weekend the BMS team will race two Iron-Man races. The first race on Saturday will be at Volunteer Speedway and the second on Sunday at Tazewell Speedway.
