MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 14) Tommy and the Blount Motorsports team were headed in a number of different directions last weekend, but ended up settling for some home cooking and a fifth place finish at Mountain Raceway Park.

The original plans called for a trip to North Georgia Speedway on Friday night and Dixie Speedway on Saturday night. However, with Dixie promoters Mickey and Mike Swims being inducted in the Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame in Florence, Ky. the track took the night off.

"We wanted to see what Dixie was like before the Thunder Series race there this weekend, but it was closed," said Tommy. "Next we looked at Volunteer at Bulls Gap and it wasn't open either. So we stayed close to home and went to the Mountain and tried some different things with the car."

This weekend Tommy and the team are going to try the North Georgia and Dixie Speedway combo again. On Friday night they will be at North Georgia Speedway in Dalton, Ga. for a regular show and on Saturday night at Dixie Speedway in Woodstock, Ga. for the Advanced Thunder event.
