MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 22) Tommy Kerr and the BlountMotorsports Team over came suspension problems to finish fourth in the SouthernAll Star Georgia State Championships at Lavonia Speedway Saturday night.

After qualifying and starting sixth Tommy was involved in acouple of on track altercations that knocked the front suspension out on theKelso Oil Company sponsored Monte Carlo. He was surprised and pleased to finishfourth.

“We had a good car until the front suspension got knockedout,” said Tommy with a shrug. “It was just one of those deals and I was verypleased that we finished as well as we did.”

Tommy and the team will head to Volunteer Speedway nextFriday and Saturday for the Advance Thunder Fall Brawl. On Friday night herewill be qualifying, heats and the Third Annual Sunoco Shoot Out. Saturday nightthere will be B-Mains to fill out the field and the running of the $10,000 towin Fall Brawl feature.

Tommy and the BMS team trail Advanced Thunder point leaderRick Rogers by 154 points going into the Fall Brawl, which is the next to thelast Advance Thunder event of the season.

“Mathematically we can win the season championship, butmaking up 154 points in two races is not as easy as it sounds. All we can do isgo out and try to win the last two races and see what shakes out,” concluded Tommy.
