MARYVILLE, Tenn. (May 10) Tommy Kerr and the Blount Motorsports Team had a good outing in the Advance Thunder event on Saturday night at Mountain Raceway Park in Maryville.

After finishing second in the second B-Mail he started 15th in the race and posted a strong sixth place finish.

“The car was good in turns one and two, but we had problems getting through three and four,” said Kerr. “We felt good about the run and we keep learning more about the car with each outing. The weather is starting to break, the season is opening up and the more we race the better we will be.”

“We just ordered another Rocket from Gary Winger at GW Performance and will be getting it race ready in the next couple of weeks,” said team owner Larry Garner. “We are really pleased with our program and are looking forward to the better weather and more racing,”

This Friday night the BMS team will head to North Georgia Speedway for an unsanctioned special being held in conjunction with the SAS Coca Cola Tennessee Memorial at Cleveland Speedway on Saturday night.

“Monty Morrow, who promotes both tracks, has put together two specials at tracks just a short distance for each other,” continued Garner. “We don’t have to burn a lot of fuel and counting bonuses there is over $8,000 up for grabs. So how can we not go.”
