MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Apr. 18) Donald piloted the Massey Electric sponsored Rocket to a fourth place finish on Friday night and a fifth place finish on Saturday in the back-to-back Spring Nationals races at Volunteer Speedway.

On Friday night Donald won his heat, started eighth on the grid and raced to a fourth place finish. On Saturday night with a different qualifying set up he finished third in the third heat, started tenth and finished fifth.

“No complaints really. We had a good car and raced well, but so much depends on qualifying. We continue to work on and get better at qualifying, but there are times you are going to get into the tougher qualifying group. And that is what happened both nights, said David. “Donald did a great job, the car worked well, we were one of the few doing any passing on Saturday night and the car came home in one piece. Like I said no complaints.”

Next Saturday the Blount Motorsports team will be looking for more success at Smoky Mountain Speedway. Donald and Tommy will compete in the $5,000 to win even SAS “Rockin with the Stars”.

Blount Motorsports enjoys sponsorship from Stowers (CAT) Machinery Corp., Arnold Trucking, Blount Excavating, Cherokee Millwright, Food City, Massey Electric, Tennessee RV, Turner Hydraulics, VP Race Fuels and Wine and Spirits Cellar.
