MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 22) The combination of a poor qualifying run, a nice run at the beginning and a slide back in the middle made for an interesting race for Tommy and the BMS team at Smoky Mountain Speedway Saturday night.

Tommy qualified 12th and 10 laps into the 40-lap SAS event he was battling for the fifth spot. As quickly as he had moved toward the front of the field he started moving toward the back, ending up about tenth. With just a couple laps remaining he was able to move to ninth and that is where he finished.

“It was one of those nights where Tommy was good and then he was not so good, then good again,” said David. “It is tough on everybody and hard to get into a groove when you are not racing on a regular basis.”

Donald McIntosh feels a lot better after suffering a concussion at Eldora and has been cleared to race. With a new car that needs to be shaken down the team has added the Clash race this Saturday night at Volunteer Speedway to the schedule.

“Everything is a whole lot better this week than last,” said Donald, “The car hit both ends and then the middle. It was the hardest hit I have ever taken and hopefully there won’t be any harder ones.”
