MARYVILLE, Tenn: (May 1) Blount Motorsports engine builder Vic Hill at Vic Hill Racing Engines has been waiting on parts to assemble a new engine for Blount Motorsports. The wait has been longer than expected and Vic has lent the team his engine so they can continue to be competitive.
“Since Vic took over our engine program he has not only built us strong and very competitive engines he has gone out of his way to work with us and help our program,” commented David after Saturday’s win at Smoky Mountain. “We are having problems getting all the parts we need to build our new engine and he loaned us his personal engine.”
It isn’t like BMS doesn’t have other engines, but they lost their primary engine, a 460 earlier in the season. The new 460 is the one that is waiting on parts to be finished.
“The cars are so close today you need to have the best of everything to be competitive and have any chance at winning races and championships,” continued David. “We have other engines, but our go to engine is the 460 we lost early in the season. Thanks to Vic we haven’t missed a beat.”
The team will take this weekend off and get everything lined up for the final three races in their run for the Spring Nationals championship.
