MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Feb. 7) Rain and nasty weather washed out the feature at Screven Motor Speedway and both days of racing at Golden Isle Speedway.
“At least we did some racing at Screven. Both Billy and I got a chance to shake the cars down” said Tommy. “But at Golden Isle we never unloaded the cars. Never got on the track.”
In the preliminaries at Screven, Billy qualified second and Tommy fourteenth. Both were in the second heat with Billy finishing second and Tommy fourth. This lined up fourth and 14th in the feature, but the rains cancelled the feature.
“Both cars were running good and we were looking forward to the feature,” said Billy. “You hate to loose a race period, but when you are running good and it is the first race of the season its really bad.”
To watch the heats at Screven go to YouTube where you will find a 12-minute video. The first heat takes roughly two minutes and is followed by the second heat where you will see the 2011 cars in action.
