MARYVILLE, Tenn. (Jun 5) Donald and Tommy both scored wins for the Blount Motorsports team this past weekend. On Friday night McIntosh won the SNBS event at Tri-County Race Track and on Saturday night Kerr won the Iron-Man Classic at Smoky Mountain Speedway with McIntosh finishing third.

“The only way it could have been a better weekend would have been if Donald had finished second instead of third behind Tommy at Smoky Mountain. This makes two good weekends in a row and that is the consistency we have been looking for.” David said.

On Friday night Donald led all 40-laps of the Schaeffer Oil Southern Nationals Bonus Series event to score his first win at Tri-County Race Track.

“We have made up some ground with the cars and it was nice to finally get a win here at Tri-County,” said Donald. “On Saturday night at Smoky Mountain we tried something and it didn’t work. We won the first heat and started ninth. We tried everything we could to get up there with Tommy for a one-two finish, but came up a little short.”

While Donald was starting ninth teammate Kerr was starting sixth after qualifying third in the second group.

“We qualified decent, the track was fast on the bottom and that is where I like to race. Although we were shuffled back on a couple of restarts we were able to pass a couple of cars and be in the right place at the right time to take the win,” grinned Tommy. “It was one of those nights when everything fell into place.”

The next three races for the Blount Motorsports team will all be at Eldora Speedway and all will be part of The Dirt Late Model Dream. Thursday and Friday there will be two 25 lap features each night. Points earned on Thursday and Friday night will determine the lineups for the heats on Saturday for The Dream.
